Yakutat

Yakutat is a short flight from Seattle  (3hrs) on commercial jet. No small plane transfers no weather delays. Alaska airlines has 2- 737 jets flights daily in Yakutat that allows easy In and easy out to this small fishing village of 750 people. Keeping it remote feel with easy access.

There are no roads in or out of Yakutat and we all see that as a blessing.  Yakutat is positioned in the upper Southeast portion of the panhandle of alaska.

No communities for hundreds of miles north and south of us. Very minimal ocean fishing pressure by the less then 15 charter boats keeps us in prime fishing only 30-40 minutes from harbor.

Yakutat is less known as fishing capital but we as a community have the LARGEST AVERAGE charter catch in the state for halibut landings.

Located on the central gulf in area 3A for halibut regulations we are the 1st community north of the southern 2C area regulations. This allows us to still catch 2 halibut a day one of ANY size and the other 28 inches or less. Often we are targeting the one NICE  halibut per person and because our fishery is so vibrant we can move onto other fishing in the same day.  The ling fishing is good. Rockfish abundant. And seasonal salmon fill the bins as part of the daily catch

Tour Mt St. Elias

Mount St. Elias is the second tallest Mountain in the United States and stands 18,008 feet.

A couple ways to experience Mount St Elias is either by air or guided tour.

The air tour only takes about 120 minutes from the Yakutat airport.   Enjoy the majestic beauty of this mountain from within the comfort of chartered aircraft.

For the more adventurous a mountaineering trek on the mountain is the way to go.   It is recommended that you be an experienced mountain climber to take this adventure.
