Ling Cod
Many of our clients know the succulent taste of Ling and prefer them
over Halibut. While not your most handsome fish to look at they are a
great table fare and amazingly fun and aggressive on the tackle.
The Ling Cod regulations have been improving for Sport anglers. The
under utilized allocation has allowed us to remain open all season and
with a liberal size slot limit of 35-50″ 2 a year and one may be of
trophy size over 55 inches.
While a lot of ling cod can be caught while fishing for halibut in
certain areas. We often target them by drifting the reefs in our fishing
grounds. It is not uncommon to limit a boat on lings and black rock fish
using the drifting method in the right area. With little pressure in our
area the habitat and resource is strong.
